Pete Rose, Jr, Signs As Indy League Hitting Coach

Pete Rose, Jr., has signed on as hitting coach for the Independent Frontier League Florence Freedom.
Rose, Jr., 40, brings 21 years of professional playing experience to the Freedom dugout, including a 1997 call-up to the big leagues with the Cincinnati Reds.
“We’re thrilled to bring in Petey to be our hitting coach,” Freedom Manager Toby Rumfield said. “He’s been by voluntarily before to work with our guys and they’ve been really receptive. He’s going to be a great addition.”
Rose, Jr. looks forward to working with Rumfield on a daily basis.
“Toby and I go way back to our playing days together and we’ve got a great working relationship,” Rose, Jr. said. “It’s my goal to step right in as a member of the coaching staff and help this team win a championship”
Rose, Jr. concluded his playing career last season with the York Revolution in the Atlantic League. From 1989-2009, Rose, Jr. posted a career .270 average with 1,924 professional hits.
