Neil Armstrong’s Steps On A Baseball Diamond

January 7, 2009 by TheUmpire

Thomas Schwagmeier has collaborated with NASA historian Eric Jones to diagram an overlay of the Apollo 11 lunar walks onto a baseball diamond.

The image is part of the Apollo 11 Lunar Surface journal.

Looks like Neil Armstrong trolled mainly around the pitcher’s mound, with a skip over to first base and a trot out to medium-depth right-center field.  Teammate Buzz Aldrin played mostly infield.
