  • Ed Kranepool To Speak At Bisons Luncheon

    Ed Kranepool Former New York Met and Buffalo Bison Ed Kranepool is one of the scheduled speakers for the Buffalo Bisons’ Hot Stove Luncheon next Friday (January 16).  The event will take place at the Adam’s Mark Hotel in Buffalo, NY.  Doors open at 11:30 AM.

    Kranepool batted .261 and hit 118 home runs during his 18 years in the majors, all with the New York Mets.  He was named to the All-Star team in 1965 (but did not play).

    As part of the 1969 “Miracle Mets,” Kranepool homered in Game 3 of the World Series against the Baltimore Orioles.  The steady southpaw is still the Mets career leader in four offensive categories:  5436 at-bats, 1418 hits, 225 doubles, and 2047 total bases.

    According to the press release:

    …Kranepool played two seasons with the Bisons in 1963 and 1964. He hit .310 with five home runs and 33 RBI in 53 games in his first season in Buffalo.  The following season, Kranepool hit .352 with three home runs and seven RBI in 15 games before getting a permanent promotion to the Mets.
